Characteristics of the Independent Learning Curriculum

The Independent Learning Curriculum (Curriculum Merdeka Belajar) is an educational approach introduced in Indonesia to give students the freedom to determine their own learning paths. Its key characteristics include flexibility, student empowerment, 21st-century skills development, and holistic assessment. The curriculum is designed to create an inclusive learning environment, support creativity, and adapt to individual needs, thus facilitating more relevant and meaningful learning experiences for students. This approach shifts the traditional paradigm toward more personalized and challenging learning, enabling students to play an active role in their educational journey.
