Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest exists when a personal, financial, or professional relationship could influence, or appear to influence, the research or its evaluation. Everyone involved in Tarbiyah must disclose such conflicts openly.

  • Authors

Declare all funding sources and any relationship that could affect the research or its interpretation. If there is none, state this in the manuscript.

  • Reviewers

Decline to review a manuscript when a conflict exists, such as a close relationship, shared institution, or competing work, and inform the editor.

  • Editors

Do not handle manuscripts they have a conflict with. Such manuscripts are assigned to another editor.

Examples of conflicts

  • Financial interests or funding from an interested party
  • Family or close personal relationships
  • Shared institution or recent collaboration
  • Competing academic or professional interests

An undisclosed conflict found after publication may lead to a correction or retraction of the article.
